חברים יקרים,
אחרי תקופה קשה בחודש האחרון בחיי הקהילה, בה חברים ישבו שבעה בשישה בתים שונים על מות יקריהם, אנו פונים אליכם לתגבור וּתמיכה לועדת החסד של בית הכנסת.
תפקידה של ועדת החסד כוללת אספקת כסאות לאבלים ומנחמים, סידורים, ספר תורה, ספרים על הלכות ומנהגי אבלות, נרות נשמה לשבוע, מודעות בבית האבל ובבית הכנסת ועזרה בארגון ארוחות במידה האפשרית.
כקהילה אפשר להתגאות בהשתפכות האהבה והאיכפתיות המוחשית שהושט למשפחות!
האבלים ומשפחותם הרגישו מחובקים והביעו הערכה ותודה על התמיכה של הקהילה.
ב"ה היו מתנדבים לעזור עם הכנת הארוחות והבאת הציוד הנדרש. בגלל העומס, החלטנו להרחיב את כוחותינו ברשימה של אנשים נוספים המוכנים עקרונית לעזור בעת הצורך.
הכנת ארוחה לא מחייבת ארוחה שלמה – אפשר לחלק את זה בין כמה מתנדבים. אנחנו מקווים שלא נצטרך לפנות למתנדב/ת בעתים יותר מדי תכוכפות!
אם את/ה מוכנ/ה להיות ברשימה של אנשים שמוכנים לעזור עם ארוחות או משהו אחר בעת הצורך (לפעמים!), נא להודיע לנו במיילים הרשומים מטה.
יישר כוח על הנכונות לעזור במעשה חסד כל כך חשוב, ובבניה, גיבוש וחיזוק של קהילתנו!

Creating a Warm and Supportive Community
Dear Friends,
After a particularly difficult period this month in the life of our community, in which members sat shiva for their loved ones in six different homes, we are turning to you for support and reinforcement for the Hesed Committee.
The role of this committee includes providing chairs for mourners and those who come to console them, siddurim, Sefer Torah, books on the halachot of mourning, week-long candles, signs for the shiva home and synagogue, as well as help with meals for the family when needed (and as much as possible).
We can all take pride in the outpouring of love, care and hesed extended to the families – it was palpable. All of the mourners expressed gratitude for having been surrounded by warmth and a strong sense of community.
B'H there were volunteers to help with the meals, and provide all the items listed above. Because of the recent "heavy traffic", the Hesed Committee would like to expand the list of people willing to help 'in principle' in meal preparation or other things. The wider the circle of volunteers, the less frequently anyone will be called upon to help.
