  • הקהל מוזמן אחרי המניין השני לקידוש שנתרם על ידי יחזקאל ופֵייגי פּוֹזי לרגל היאָרצײַט בו ביום של אמו של יחזקאל, פרנסס פּוֹזי-ריין (שפרינצא בת חנוך-זונדל ז"ל).
  • שיעורי הרב וילק יתקיימו בשבת זו: דף יומי ב-6:30, ושיעור בין מנחה וערבית בשבת.
  • לימוד ואמירת תהילים לנשים יתקיימו מִדֵי חודש, בשבת מברכין. המפגש הקרוב יהיה בשבת חיי שרה, 15 בנובמבר.
  • במוצאי שבת חיי שרה – כ״ד במרחשון, 15 בנובמבר – בשעה 17:45, תתקיים האספה השנתית של עמותת בית הכנסת, בה יתקיימו בחירות לוועד. חברים וחברות המעוניינים להיבחר לוועד מתבקשים ליצור קשר עם מיכאל גיליס. כאן קישור לדו״ח הכספי של העמותה לשנת המס 2024.

  • Mazal tov to Daniel and Zehava Taub on the birth of a grandson, a son to Judah and Leah Taub, a grandson to David and Elissa Finn, and a great-grandson to Dr. Henry Goldblum.
  • Kiddush after the second minyan this Shabbat is sponsored by Carl and Fayge Posy in honor of the Yahrzeit on Shabbat of Carl's Mother, Frances Posy-Rhine ז״ל.
  • Rav Vilk will give his usual shiurim this Shabbat: daf yomi at 6:30am, and his shiur between minḥa and ma'ariv.
  • New schedule for the women’s Tehillim and learning group: The group will meet monthly on Shabbat Mevarchin. The next session will be on November 15, Parashat Chayei Sarah.
  • The annual meeting of the Amuta of the Beit Knesset will be held on motzei Shabbat, Parshat Chayei Sarah (24 Cheshvan – 15 November) at 5:45 p.m. The meeting will elect a new committee. Members wishing to be candidates should contact Michael Gillis.

  • Mazal tov to Rabbi Aaron and Pearl Borow on the engagement of their great-grandson, Ezra Zimmerman, to Miriam Levy – both from Chicago. Best wishes to the parents, Rabbi Zvi and Rachel Zimmerman, the grandparents, Joe and Becky Zimmerman, and to the entire Levy family.
  • There will be a kiddush this Shabbat after the 9am minyan, at which we will honor Rabbanit Pearl Borow on turning 90, and Ziona Avitzur and Chaya Scheuer on turning 80.
  • Rav Vilk will give his usual shiurim this Shabbat: daf yomi at 6:30am, and his shiur between minḥa and ma'ariv.

    • The women’s Tehillim and learning group will not meet this Shabbat.  We will resume after Chag Sukkot. 
    • The kehila is invited to Hoshana Raba learning on Sunday night, chol hamoed Sukkot, October 12. The sessions will be in Hebrew. Details here.
    • On Hoshanah Rabah, aravot will be on sale before each shacharit minyan at 6:00am and at 7:45am.
