עד כה נרשמו רק 14 זוגות. על מנת לשריין את החדרים עלינו להגיע לפחות ל-20 חדרים. כבר ידוע לכולם כי ההרשמה מהווה כוונה בלבד, לאמור אם יקרו אירועים כל שהם ניתן יהיה לבטל, עד לכחודש לפני המועד, ללא תשלום דמי ביטול. מכל מקום מי שמעוניין להשתתף, זהו הזמן להרשם שאם לא כן נאלץ לבטל את השבתון.

The registration signifies intention only, since you can cancel up to one month prior to the event with neither cost nor penalty. Anyone interested should sign up now; otherwise, we will have no choice but to cancel the shabbaton.

As part of the renovation of our women's section (porch) toward the High Holidays, we will be removing three wooden doors that have stood behind the closet for the 17 years since our big renovation. They are made of heavy and high-quality wood. If you can use them, we can transport them to your place. Speak with Menachem Zer Kavod.

בישיבת הועד מיום 26.7.17 הוחלט כי החל בשבת פר' ואתחנן בבוקר ואילך נחזור להתחיל את התפילה בציבור מ"ר' ישמעאל אומר", כפי שהיה נהוג בבית הכנסת מיום ייסודו ועד לפני כחמש שנים. הציבור יאמר את ברכות השחר בביתו או בבית הכנסת לפני התפילה. הסבר מפורט ראו במכתב הרב המצורף.

A double mazal tov to Tanya and Alex Pomson: on the upcoming marriage of their son Ittai to Naomi Bitton — and on the the recent birth of their first grandchild, Liel, daughter to Anna Pomson and Josh Grob. The Pomsons invite you to kiddush to celebrate both these smachot.
At the last board meeting it was decided, beginning next week with Parashat Va'etchanan, that we would resume the custom of our beit knesset to start the tefillah with רבי ישׁמעל אומר, as we did from the founding of the shul until about five years ago. People should either say ברכות השחר at home or at shul before the tefillah. See attached explanation from Rabbi Vilk.

Michael Kagan's film "Tunnel of Hope", about the escape of 220 Jews, including his father, via a 200 meter tunnel from a Nazi work camp in Novogrudok, will be shown at Machon Pardes on Tisha B'Av Tuesday August 1, 2:45-4:15pm, 29 Pierre Koenig St. Jerusalem.
