שזכה לעלות מברלין הארורה לפני 82 שנה, נפטר בשׂיבה טובה מאוד לאחר 99 שנות חיים של בריאות מלאה בגוף ונפש כאחת מלאים בעשיה רבה ובשמחה.

ההלוויה תיערך ביום שלישי בשׂדה אליהו, שם תשב המשפחה שבעה.

We extend our condolences to Elisha Haas upon the passing of his father

Kolonimus Ben Menachem HaLevi

who was privileged to make aliyah 82 years ago from an accursed Berlin, who passed away at the very ripe old age of 99 years of good health in mind and body, blessed with with great accomplishment and joy.

The funeral will take place Tuesday March 6 at Sde Eliyahu, where the family will observe shiva. Elisha intends to sit shiva on Wednesday afternoon and evening in his home: 22 Caspi Street, Apt. 4 (entrance from the public stairs on the right of the building via the wooden gate).

יישר כח לכל אלו שתרמו בשנה שעברה סך 23,000₪, כל הכבוד! סכום זה חולק כדלקמן:

• ₪10,000 נמסרו ללשכות הרווחה בקטמון ובבקעה – תלפיות. החלוקה נעשית לנזקקים מוכרים בשתי הרמות הגבוהות של הנזקקות.
• ₪5,000 חולקו בין 31 משפחות במעון לנשים מוכות ובדירות מסתור.
• ₪6,100 נמסרו לחלוקה לנזקקים בחצר ישורון ע"י חברנו ניסים אביצור.
• היתרה בסך 2ֿ,200₪ חולקו לנזקקים ע"פ המלצות אישיות של חברי הקהילה.

חברי הקהילה מתבקשים לתרום למבצע קימחא דפיסחא גם השנה תשע"ח. יש למלא הצ'ק כשהמוטב הוא: "בית כנסת עמק רפאים, קימחא דפיסחא". את הצ'קים יש להשליך לתיבת הדאר בכניסה לעזרת הגברים, או לתרום במזומן לידי מרטין ויסברג או לבצע העברה לחשבון הבנק של קרן הצדקה 659307 בבנק הפועלים בסניף 748 סניף "דרך חברון".

Thank you and כּל הכּבוד to everyone who contributed the total of ₪23,000 last year to the Kimcha D'Pischa effort, which was distributed as follows:

• ₪10,000 was given to welfare agencies in Katamon, Bak'a, and Talpiot. The funds were distributed to the most needy.
• ₪5,000 was given to 31 families in battered women's shelters and safe houses.
• ₪6,100 was given to recipients in Chatzer Yeshurun by our member Niso Avitsur.
• The remaining ₪2,200 was distributed based on personal recommendations by members of our kehillah.

This year we encourage you to generously perform this important mitzvah and support the effort again. Checks can be written to "Beit Knesset Emek Refaim, Kimcha D'Pischa" and placed in the box by the beit knesset door. Cash can also be given to Marty Weisberg. Bank transfers can be made to the account of the Tzedakah Fund, Account #659307, Bank HaPoalim, Derekh Hevron Branch #748.

• There will be two readings of Megillat Esther by women for women.
• Purim night at 6:00pm: Lehman family, 83 Derekh Hebron, Apt. 1
• Purim morning at 9:15am sharp: Medved family, 6 Zerubavel Street. Women and girls old enough to sit still or young enough to be held (babies) are welcome. Unruly toddlers will be given an espresso and a puppy and sent home.

We extend our condolences to Bezalel Jacobowitz upon the passing of his father

Rabbi Dr. Jason Jacobowitz

husband of Ruth, father of David, Avi, Bezalel and Yitzy,
also grandfather and great-grandfather.

The funeral will take place Tuesday Feb 6th in Israel at Eretz Hachaim Cemetery in Har Tuv (near Bet Shemesh) at 2:30pm.

The family will sit shiva on Tuesday and Wednesday at Bezalel's home
