The "Queen" of Jerusalem guides, Tamar Hayardeni, conducts tours of various neighborhoods in the city, among them ours – Bak'a. One of her and her participants' favorite destinations in Bak'a is our Beit Knesset, due to the story of the shul's building, before it became a shul, which Tamar uncovered in her research. Tamar has now shared the story in print, in her 'Tail of a Trail' column in the Israeli history periodical 'Segula' (Issue 78), and it is presented here with the permission of Segula.
