חברי קהילה יקרים,
תקופה משונה עוברת על כולנו. הקמנו צבא מפואר, מערכת בריאות מהמתקדמות בעולם, טכנולוגיה פורצת דרך, והנה וירוס אחד משבית את הכל ועוצר את העולם מלכת. איש בעולם לא יודע לצפות את המחר, ועד שנגלה כיצד לעצור את וירוס הקורונה אנו נתונים בשבי של אויב שלא ציפינו לו. העם היהודי למוד מלחמות והתמודדות, עם אויבים פיסיים (פורים), רוחניים (חנוכה) ולאומיים (פסח), ותמיד יצאנו צולעים על ירכנו וממשיכים הלאה עד ששוב אנו שלמים, וחוזר חלילה. גם מן המשבר הזה נצא, ב"ה בטוב ובבריאות.
אחד הקשיים הגדולים הוא פירוקה הזמני של הקהילה, והגעגוע לתפילה משותפת ולקידוש בחצר, לשיעורי תורה ולדיבורים של חברים. הנסיון לשמר קהילה דיגיטלית רק מעצים את הגעגוע, ואני מקווה כי נשוב במהרה למקדש המעט שלנו. לעת עתה, נרתמו רבים לסייע ככל שניתן ולתת מענה לכל צורך, ואנו מזמינים אתכם לפנות אלי או לחברי הוועד בכל בקשה ושאלה ונשמח לסייע.
לפניכם כמה מהִלכות השבת בתפילות היחיד בבתים:
- אין להתאסף למניין השבת.
- בערב שבת מתפללים קבלת שבת וערבית כרגיל, אומרים 'ויכולו', אך לא אומרים 'מגן אבות'.
- רצוי להוסיף בסוף התפילות – 'אבינו מלכנו הסר מגפה מנחלתך'.
- בבוקר ראוי להתפלל בשעה הקבועה בבית הכנסת, דהיינו 8:00, וכך כולנו נתפלל ביחד! אפשר גם ותקין כמובן.
- השבת קוראים בתורה גם את פרשת ויקהל וגם פרשת החודש. יש לקרוא את שתי הקריאות מתוך חומש וכן את הפטרת החודש, בלי ברכה.
- החייבים בקדיש יכולים ללמוד לעילוי נשמת יקיריהם פרק בתורה, משנה או דף גמרא ויעלה לזכרון ב"ה.
אחדים מכם וודאי החלו לנקות לקראת חג הפסח, והשנה לא נוכל להזמין עזרה בניקיונות. אני מזכיר לכולם שדי בסילוק החמץ שאפשר לאכול או לשתות, ולכלוך או אבק לא נחשבים חמץ. אנא הכשירו את הבית מחמץ, ואת הניקוי הכללי של ימי האביב הניחו לאחר שנצא לחירות. מוזמנים לפנות אלי בכל שאלה.

A Message to Our Kehillah from Rabbi Shlomo Vilk
Dear members of our kehillah,
We live in strange times. Our nation has established a remarkable army, a health system among the world’s most advanced, groundbreaking technologies. And along comes a virus which shuts it all down and halts the world in its tracks. No one knows what tomorrow brings; until we determine how to stop the coronavirus, we stand trapped by an unanticipated enemy. The Jewish nation has known wars and struggles, with physical enemies (e.g. Purim), spiritual ones (e.g. Chanukah), and national ones (e.g. Pesach). We have always landed on our feet and rebuilt, again and again. From this crisis, too, shall we also emerge ב״ה stronger and healthier.
One tough challenge is the temporary disruption of our kehillah. We miss davening together, our kiddushes in the courtyard, learning Torah together, and talking with our friends. Our effort to stick together digitally only enforces this very human longing. I look forward to our returning to our own little Beit Mikdash. For now, many are trying to help in any way they can. I invite you to contact me or any member of the Va’ad with any question, and we’ll try to help.
Here are a few halachot for Shabbat individual prayers at home:
- No group minyanim.
- On Erev Shabbat, there is normal Kabbalat Shabbat and arvit. We say ויכוּלוּ, but not מגן אבות.
- I suggest that we each add a tefilla: אבינו מלכנו, מנע מגיפה מנחלתך (“Our Father, our King, withhold plague from Your inheritance”).
- In the morning, daven at 8am, at the same time as we would in the beit knesset. That way, it’s as if we were all praying together!
- The Torah reading this Shabbat is ויקהל and also פרשת החודש The parashot and haftarah can be read from any חומש, without a ברכה.
- Anyone saying kaddish can learn a chapter of Torah, Mishnah, or Gemara, in memory of their loved one.
Some of you may have already started Pesach cleaning, and there will be little outside help this year. I want to remind you that it is enough to get rid of edible chametz. Dirt and dust are not chametz. Make your home kosher from chametz and leave the spring cleaning till springtime, in the hope that we will already emerge to freedom.
