קיבוץ רמת רחל – חפירות אריכיאולוגיות מתקופת בית ראשון – סיור בעקבות הלחימה במלחמת השחרור בהדרכת ד"ר שמואל בהט
הסיור יתקיים ביום רביעי כ"ג באייר – 5.5.21 מפגש בשעה 16:00 ברחבת החנייה ליד החפירות בקיבוץ רמת רחל
נפתח סיורנו בארמון תנ"כי, מלכותי ומרשים, בין כותרות מפוארות ומעקות מפתיעים.
נמשיך דרך ימי בית שני וימי הביזנטים, נתגלגל ונגיע עד להקמת קיבוץ ייחודי, ולסיפור הקמתו והגנתו על ירושלים במלחמת העצמאות. הקיבוץ עמד על קו הגבול, אל מול העמדות הירדניות, במשך 19 שנים והפך לקרש קפיצה לחילות היוצאים לשחרר את קבר רחל בואך קרית ארבע וחברון.
ניפגש בשעה 16:00 ברחבת החניה הסמוכה לחפירות (ממשיכים בכביש המבוא למלון ולבריכה עד סופו בחניון הכורכר).
משך הסיור כשלש שעות. המדריך הוא ד"ר שמואל בהט שהדריך אותנו לפני שנתיים בנושא: קרבות הרובע במלחמת העצמאות.
אין עלות לחברי הקהילה.
מומלץ להביא מים וכובע.

Yael Community Walking Tour in Honor of Yom Yerushalayim 5781
Kibbutz Ramat Rachel: Biblical archeological site and in the footsteps of the battle for Jerusalem in the War of Independence.
Tour leader: Dr. Shmuel Bahat
The tour will be held on Wednesday 23 Iyyar – May 5, 2021, at 4.00 p.m.
Meeting place: Parking lot next to archeological site Kibbutz Ramat Rachel
Our tour will begin at the impressive palace from the First Temple period. We will continue with finds from the Second Temple and Byzantine periods. From there we will look at the history of the establishment of Kibbutz Ramat Rachel and its part in the War of Independence, its place on the border across from Jordanian positions and as the base for the forces that liberated Kever Rachel and Hevron.
We will meet at 4.00 p.m. in the parking lot next to the archeological site (continue to the end of the road, past the hotel and swimming pool).
The tour will last approximately 3 hours and will be guided by Dr Shmuel Bahat who guided us two years ago.
The tour is free for members of the Yael community. Please bring water and a hat.
