חברי קהילה היקרים,
בימים קשים אלו, ולאור ההוראות החדשות של משרד הבריאות והממשלה, ועדת קרן הצדקה מזכירה שמטרת הקרן הראשונית הייתה ועודנה לתמוך בחברי קהילה שבצורה פתאומית נזקקים לעזרה דחופה. הקרן נוצרה על מנת שנוכל להעניק סכום מוגבל לכיסוי הוצאות שקשה לעמוד בהן. המענק ניתן עבור מטרה ייחודית (קניה/תשלום ועוד..) ליחיד, משפחה או משק בית שהינם תושבי ירושלים המוכרים לאחד מחברי הקהילה ויומלצו על ידו.
ב"ה עד כה הצלחנו לעזור למגוון גדול של אנשים ולהיות בצד הנותנים, אך כמובן שאם ח"ו חבר/ת הקהילה עצמו/ה נזקק/ת לתמיכה, אנחנו כאן להושיט עזרה באופן חסוי ומכובד!
אם ידוע לכם על מישהו שזקוק לתמיכה כזאת, (ראו בהמשך הנחיות לבקשה מסודרת)
- אפשר לפנות לחברות ועדת קרן הצדקה דרך כתובת מֵייל חדשה: tzedakah@yael.org.il.
- גם אפשר למסור בקשות בתיבת דואר של קרן הצדקה, ברחוב ברק 3, (בדואר, או אם זה בטווח המותר).
החברים המעונינים לפנות בעילום שם יפנו לרב שלמה ווילק, מיכאל גיליס, או חבר אחר. הם יעבירו אלינו את הבקשה וננסה לעזור עד כמה שאפשר ומותר לנו.
מצד שני, אנו מבקשים מכם לתרום כנדבת לבכם על מנת שנוכל כקהילה לעזור בשעה המאתגרת הזאת.
- ניתן לתרום כאן לקרן הצדקה עם כרטיס אשראי. קבלה תשלח במייל.
- ניתן לרשום המחאות לפקודת "בית הכנסת עמק רפאים" ולציין "עבור קרן צדקה". (אחרת הכסף יופנה לחשבון הרגיל של בית הכנסת) ולשלוח את זה למנחם זר כבוד, רח' ברק 3, ירושלים.
- ניתן לבצע העברה בנקאית.

הנחיות לפנייה לקרן צדקה בית כנסת עמק רפאים
קרן הצדקה של בית כנסת עמק רפאים נותנת תמיכה חד-פעמית בסכום של עד 3000 ש"ח לאנשים הגרים בירושלים הזקוקים לעזרה, שמוכרים ומומלצים על ידי חברי הקהילה.
התשלום ניתן לפקודת סַפַּק השרות או המוצר ולא לפקודת מבקש העזרה באופן ישיר. (סַפַּק יכול להיות חברה, חנות, רופא, מוסד.)
על מנת להגיש בקשה לקרן צריכים את המסמכים הבאים:
- מכתב אישי שבו המבקש מפרט את הבקשה ונסיבות לבקשת הסיוע
- צילום של תעודת הזהות של המבקש, כולל כתובת בירושלים.
- מספר הטלפון של המבקש.
- אישור לנסיבות שהביאו לבקשת המענק – לדוגמה מכתב מרב, מעסיק, עו"ס וכו'. (לחילופין מכתב פיטורים, דף חשבון בנק, ביטוח לאומי, קבלות וכו'.)
- חשבונית או הצעת מחיר מהמוסד/סַפַּק שאליו התשלום מיועד.
יש לציין איש קשר אם זה שונה ממבקש העזרה, כדי שנודיע לו על אישור/אי אישור הבקשה או כשהתשלום יהיה מוכן.
את כל המסמכים הנ"ל יש לשים ב/לשלוח ל תיבת הדואר של "קרן צדקה", בכניסת בנין המגורים ברחוב ברק 3, בשכונת בקעה, או לשלוח ל: tzedakah@yael.org.il.
Dear friends,
In the wake of the latest instructions of the Ministry of Health and other government offices, we'd like to emphasize that our shul's Tzedakah Fund was initially established to help those community members who normally "make do", but find themselves in untenable situations in which they can't cover sudden expenses. Our fund continues to grant emergency, one-time aid (a limited grant) to a target audience of Jerusalem residents who are known to, and referred by, a member of the kehila. Grants are given for a specific purpose (a purchase or outstanding bills) once a year to a family, individual or household.
Thankfully, over the years we have been blessed to help a diverse group of people from the position of "benefactor". Of course, if G-d forbid, any of our own members are in need of support, we are here to help, while maintaining the same level of discretion and respect throughout the process.
If you know someone in need of such a grant:
- Requests in writing can be delivered to the Tzedaka Fund mailbox at 3 Barak Street, Jerusalem.
- You may also contact one of the Tzedakah Fund members through our new email address: tzedakah@yael.org.il.

If someone would prefer to apply for a grant somewhat more anonymously, please turn to Rabbi Shlomo Vilk, Michael Gillis, or any other shul member who might be a personal sponsor. We will work with them to process the request insomuch as is allowed by regulations.
The flip-side of this mission requires funds so that we as a community can continue to help those in need through these challenging times. Please donate generously.
- Contributions can be made online. Receipts will be sent by e-mail.
- Checks can be made out to “BEIT KNESSET EMEK REFAIM”, but should be clearly marked for the “TZEDAKAH FUND” (otherwise they are deposited in the shul’s general expenses account), and should be mailed to Menachem ZerKavod, 3 Barak Street, Jerusalem.
- Bank transfer in Shekels
- US$ dollar donations can be made to the shul through "PEF". Please clearly instruct PEF to direct funds to “Tzedakah Fund – Beit Knesset Emek Refaim”, and inform Menachem Zer Kavod that they are en route.

Instructions for application to the Emek Refaim Synagogue Tzedaka Fund
This Tzedaka Fund was established to give 'one time' grants (up to 3000 NIS) to residents of Jerusalem in financial distress, who are referred by members of the synagogue community.
The funds are provided for payment of services or specific necessary items, and not given as payment to the individual making the request. For example, the supplier might be a medical practitioner, institution or store.
The data required for processing a request:
- Copy of ID (teudat zehut), noting name, #, Jerusalem address of person requesting assistance
- Phone number of person requesting assistance
- Personal letter explaining request and circumstances
- Corroboration of circumstances leading to the request. For example a letter from a Rav, employer, social worker. This can also include employment termination notice, bank statement, disability reports, Bituach Leumi receipts, etc…)
- Invoice for the product/funding requested (checks are issued to the person/company providing the product/service requested, not to the person making the request)
- Contact info for whomever should be contacted, if different from the one making the request, for notification of the grant decision or when payment is ready.
Requests with all the above data can be mailed to, or placed in, the mailbox of the "Keren Tzedaka" in the entrance of the building at Rehov Barak 3, Jerusalem, or sent by email to tzedakah@yael.org.il.
