  • כולנו עייפים מהסֶגֶר,אבל לא כולנו קולטים שמקרים חדשים של הנגיף קפצו כ-50% ב-8 ימים האחרונים ושגַל התפרצות החדש רק התחיל. אנו שׂמחים שנפתח בית הכנסת, אבל תפילות ציבוריות מותנות בביצוע קפדני של הוראות משׂרד הבריאות. זה כולל ישיבה במקומות המסומנים בלבד ולבישת מסכות שמכסות גם את הפה וגם את האף. למען בריאות כולנו, נא ציית לחוק.

Coronavirus Matters

  • We all naturally suffer from lockdown fatigue, but not everyone grasps that new coronavirus cases in Israel jumped 50% in the last 8 days and the next wave has just begun. We are pleased that our beit knesset has reopened, but our public tefillot depend on strict implementation of the written regulations of the Health Ministry. These include sitting in marked seats only and wearing a mask covering both mouth and nose. For the safety of everyone in our kehillah, please follow the rules.

  • If you are interested in regularly attending a shacharit minyan at shul at 7:30am on weekdays, please sign up here. If there is a response of 12-14 men, we will announce the renewal of the minyan. The 6:00am minyan continues at shul as usual, as does the virtual Zoom minyan at 7.30am.

הרצאה על הקורונה – Coronavirus in Plain English

למזלנו יש לנו חבר בקהילתנו, פרופ׳ דון קריסט, שהוא גם מומחה עולמי למימדים הרפואיים של נגיף הקורונה. הוא יִשׂא הרצאה (באנגלית) ביום ג׳ ב-17:00 בזוּם (ראו פרטים מטה).

We are fortunate to have as a member of Beit Knesset Emek Refaim, Prof. Don Krisst, an international expert on medicine. He will present a talk on Tuesday afternoon about what's really going on with the pandemic, medically.

COVID-19 Pandemic Demystification

דחיית אסיפת החברים ובחירות לוועד

הוועד מבקש לדחות את האסיפה השנתית והבחירות לוועד עד אחרי החגים בחודש מרחשוון. יש שתי סיבות לדחייה:

  1. הקושי לארגן אסיפה ובחירות בתנאים המגבילים של תקופת קורונה.
  2. עומדים לסיים את תפקידם בוועד לא מעט חברים בו. בגלל המורכבות הצפויה בארגון תפילות חודש תשרי הוועד הנוכחי והמנוסה מבקש לקחת אחריות על הדבר.

יש לציין שדווקא חודש מרחשוון הוא התאריך הנקוב לאסיפה בתקנון הנוכחי. בכל זאת, דחיית האסיפה לתאריך שהוא כ-16 חודש מהאסיפה הקודמת היא דבר חריג. הוועד רוצה לנהוג בשקיפות גמורה. על כן, כל מי שמתנגד לדחייה מוזמן ליצור קשר עם יו"ר הוועד ולהציג את התנגדותו\ה לפני קבלת חלטה סופית בעניין.

Postponement of Annual Members Meeting and Elections

The va’ad requests postponing the Annual Members Meeting (asefah) and Committee Elections until after the Chagim in the month of Cheshvan. The reasons for the postponement are as follows:

  1. The difficulties of holding a general meeting and election under the restrictions that apply during this Corona period.
  2. A significant proportion of the va’ad will end their term this year. Because of the anticipated complexity of organizing the tefillot for the chagim of Tishrei, the present experienced va’ad wishes to take responsibility for this task.

Note that the existing constitution actually names Cheshvan as the month in which the meeting and elections should be held. Notwithstanding, however, the va’ad seeks to act with complete transparency. Anyone objecting to the postponement is invited to communicate their objection to the va’ad chair before a final decision is made on this matter.
