אשתי יעל מתאשפזת לטיפול מסוכן, אך הכרחי, אשר יימשך כמה שבועות. תפילות לרפואת יעל בת דַּכָה לאה (דכה עם כ רפויה) תתקבלנה בברכה. במהלך הטיפולים היא תזדקק למנות דם רבות, ומביה"ח ביקשו שחברים וקרובי משפחה (בין 18-65) יתרמו דם. אפשר לעשות זאת בכל בנק דם של מד"א, ואין צורך לציין עבור מי התרומה – המטרה "להחזיר" לבנק את מנות הדם שתזדקק להן. הנחיות ניתן למצוא כאן: http://www.mdais.org/364/ .
בנוסף, היא תזדקק למנות רבות של טסיות (רכיב בדם) – שזה דורש מאמץ גדול יותר. כדי לתרום טסיות (גיל 18-65 בלבד) יש להתקשר לתל השומר (03-5305375); התרומה נעשית שם בשעות 8:00-14:00 בתאום מראש בלבד, ואורכת כשעתיים. יש לציין שהתרומה היא עבור יעל פנקובר, במחלת השתלות, אצל ד"ר שמעוני. אין צורך בסוג דם מסוים; כל תרומה של טסיות מקנה לה "זכות" למנה בסוג שהיא צריכה, וכל מי שיכול לתרום דם יכול לתרום טסיות. מדובר על מאמץ משמעותי – אך יש כאן הצלת חיים כפשוטו, ונודה מאד לכל מי שיוכל לסייע – מן השמים תבורכו!

My wife Yael is being hospitalized for a critical medical procedure that will take a few weeks; your tfilot for Yael bat Dacha Leah would be most appreciated. The hospital asked that we encourage friends (age 18-65) to donate blood since she will be receiving many units over the next few weeks. This can be done in any Magen David Adom blood bank, and you do not need to specify the recipient – this is simply to replenish what she will be getting. Donation guidelines (also in English) can be found at http://www.mdais.org/364/.
In addition, she will also need a lot of platelets – טסיות. If anyone (age 18-65) is willing to do a major חסד, donations can be done in Tel Hashomer, and need to be scheduled in advance (call 03-5305375). It takes 2 hours, during 8:00-14:00 – and please tell them you are donating for יעל פנקובר, במחלת השתלות, אצל ד"ר שמעוני. This is not easy, but it really is הצלת חיים…

ביום ראשון הקרוב, י״ז בתמוז, אי״ה נשׂים פרוכת בארון הקודש לשלושת השבועות שקודם תלינו רק בתשעה באב. שׂמנו לב אשתקד שהפרוכת היתה במצב רע ולכן שיפצנו אותה אצל מקצוען.
כתוב פה: ״מתנת קהילת מוסבך (גרמניה) לכבוד שיפוץ וחנוכת הבית תרנ״ט (1899).
הפרוכת הובאה ארצה ע״י חברנו אברהם זליגמן ז״ל, ממקימי בית הכסת. מטה אפשר לקרוא יותר על קהילת מוסבך.
היהודים הגיעו לעיירה לראשונה במאה השלש עשרה אבל במרוצת השנים נפגעו מגזירות שונות ושרידיהם גורשו מן העיר. רק בראשית המאה ה-19 זכו לאמנציפציה. בשיאה הגיע מספר היהודים ל-229 ב-1871 ( מתוך 3300 תושבים). ב- 1933 היו 133 נפשות.
הקהילה היהודית בנתה בית תפילה ומקווה בסוף המאה ה-18. מוסדות הקהילה כללו בית ספר יסודי (1830-1876) בית כנסת ובית קברות. ב-1876 נסגר בית הספר וילדי הקהילה עברו לבית הספר הכללי. המורה היהודי המשיך ללמדם לימודי דת. החל ב-1827 שכנה בעיירה הרבנות המחוזית.הרב המפורסם הראשון במוסבך היה ד"ר ליאופולד לוונשטיין (1843-1924). לוונשטיין ארגן פעילויות דת וצדקה וכן גם כתב עבודות חשובות על ההיסטוריה היהודית בנסיכות באדן. ב-1933 היתה מוסבך מרכז רבנות המחוז ל-31 קהילות בראשות הרב יוליוס גריילסהיימר. בליל הבדולח, ב-נובמבר 1938, נשדדו בתי היהודים וכן שתי חנויות יהודיות ששרדו עד אז. הפורעים שרפו את בית הכנסת ועוד קודם לכן שרפו את כלי הקודש ואת ספרי התורה בככר השוק. בית הקברות נפגע קשות ושמונה יהודים נשלכו לדכאו. ב-22.10.40 עזבו או גורשו 126 יהודים את מוסבך. שני יהודים שהיו נשואים לגרמניות נשארו במקום עד סוף המלחמה. 38 מיהודי מוסבך,לפחות, אבדו בשואה. ב-1950 נבנה מוסך על שטחו של בית הכנסת השרוף. במקום שלט זכרון ואנדרטה וכן גם בבית הקברות. ניתן לקבל מאמר מפורט יותר אצל מנחם זר כבוד.
This Sunday, Shiva Asar beTamuz, the parochet previously used only for Tisha b'Av will be hung on the Aron Kodesh for the entire Three Weeks. Last year, we noticed that this parochet was in very poor condition and was at risk of disintegrating entirely. Therefore, we had it repaired by a professional fabric restorer.
The inscription on the parochet reads: "A gift of the Mosbach Germany community on the occasion of the rededication of the synagogue in the year of its renovation, 5659 (=1899)."
As far as we know, the parochet was brought from Europe by one of the early leaders of our shul, Avraham Seligman. To learn more about the Mosbach community, see below.
General information: First Jewish presence: 13th century; peak Jewish population: 229 in 1871; Jewish population in 1933: 134
Summary: The Jewish community of Mosbach built a synagogue and mikveh at Frohndbrunnengasse in the late 1700s. Communal institutions included a school (1830-1876) and a cemetery, and we also know that beginning in 1827, the community hosted a district rabbinate. Mosbach’s first honorary citizen was Rabbi Dr. Leopold Loewenstein (1843-1924). Loewenstein not only organized religious and charitable activities, but also wrote important works on Baden’s Jewish history. In 1933, Julius Grailshamer was district rabbi; a teacher/chazzan instructed 15 schoolchildren in religion. Later, on Pogrom Night (November 1938), Jewish homes and the two remaining Jewish owned stores were vandalized. The synagogue was set on fire, but not before the rioters had destroyed its interior and (this was done at the marketplace) burned the ritual objects and Torah scrolls. The cemetery was heavily damaged that night, and eight Jews were sent to Dachau. One hundred and ten Jews left Mosbach, two died there, and 16 were deported to Gurs on October 22, 1940. Two Jews, both of whom were married to Christians, survived the war in Mosbach. At least 38 local Jews perished in the Shoah. Garages were built on the synagogue site in the 1950s; a plaque was unveiled there in 1969. In 1986, memorial stones were unveiled at the synagogue site and at the cemetery.

לכל חברי הקהילה שלום,
פעמים רבות פנו אלי חברי קהילה במצוקותיהם וביקשו עזרה. תמיד היו מאיתנו רבים שנרתמו לעזרה מיידית, בתרומה, בביקור חולים, ביעוץ, באירוח ובכל דבר אותו ביקשנו. גם קרן הצדקה שלנו פועלת באופן מרגש ונמרץ כדי להרבות חסד, בעזרת תרומות של כל בני הקהילה.
בכל הזדמנות אני מלמד כי אחת הטרגדיות הגדולות בעת החדשה היא כי המדינה החליפה את הקהילה, במקום להעצים את הקהילה ולחזקה. הקהילה שלנו היא אות ומופת לערבות הדדית ולחסד של אמת, ויחד עם האמון והגאווה שלנו במדינה, אנו שייכים גם לקהילה. כששואלים את ילדי מנין הם, הם לא עונים שהם מישראל או מירושלים, אלא מבקעה, משום שהקהילה שלנו היא מרכז הזהות שלהם ושלנו, ואני שׂמח על כך.
עתה פנתה אלי משפחה שנקלעה לחובות כבדים. מדובר בחברי קהילה ותיקים ויקרים שתרמו רבות לקהילה, שביקשו ממני בעיקר לסייע בהצלת המשפחה וכן את יחסיהם עם ילדיהם ונכדיהם, מתוך השלמה עם העובדה כי יאלצו למכור את ביתם בשכונה ובקהילה כדי להחזיר חובות.
בהתיעצות שלי עם יועץ כלכלי מעמותת 'מקימי', המסייעת למשפחות במצוקה, וכן עם יועץ נישׂואין, למדתי כי הזוג עובד על תכנית שיקום, ועל פריסת חובות. אני מבקש לסייע למשפחה בהחזרת חלק מהחובות, כך שגם אם יאלצו למכור את ביתם ולעבור, עדיין יוכלו להתקיים בכבוד עד לשיקום הכלכלי. כדי שזה יקרה, אני מבקש לגייס ממקורות שונים, ביניהם גם חברי הקהילה, כארבע מאות אלף ש"ח, סכום גדול מאוד שיכסה רק שליש מהחוב הגדול, אך יוכל לסייע בשיקום.
כמעט בכל בקשה עד היום פניתי רק לבודדים כדי לסייע, אולם הפעם מדובר בהוצאה כבדה, ולכן אני פונה לכל הקהל. כל תרומה, קטנה וגדולה, חד פעמית או בפריסת תשלומים, תסייע מאוד. וועד הקהילה וקרן הצדקה הקימו קרן לסיוע תחת השם 'מקימי', ואפשר להעביר את התרומות אלי או לאחד הגבאים. הכסף יועבר למשפחה רק דרך קרן הצדקה ורק לאחד אישור שלי ושל היועץ הכלכלי, כדי לוודא שאכן הכסף יגיע למשפחה ולנושים בצורה הנכונה.

Shalom to our community! There have been a number of times that members of our community have turned to me for help in an hour of need, and other members have stepped up immediately, whether with money, sick visits, advice, hospitality, or anything else required. Our own Keren Tzedakah performs its heartwarming acts of kindness thanks to our members’ generosity.
I teach that it is a modern tragedy that the State is expected to replace the support of the Community, instead of strengthening it. Our congregation is a good example of mutual aid and righteousness. Without diminishing trust and pride in our country, we are also a kehillah. When my children are asked where they’re from, they don’t answer Israel or even Jerusalem – rather Bak’a, because they’re proud of their kehillah, and I’m glad they do.
Recently a member family that has fallen under heavy financial pressure has turned to me for help. I refer to a veteran member family who has contributed much to our congregation. I have been asked to help raise funds to help save their family and their relationship with children and grandchildren. They accept the fact that they will likely need to sell their home in the neighborhood to return their debts.
In consultation with a financial advisor, which advises families in need, and also with a marriage counselor, I have learned that the couple is working on a recovery plan and spreading out its debts. I am reaching out to you personally to help this family return even part of its debts, so that even if they must sell their home, they can survive in dignity while recovering financially. I aim to help raise a total of four hundred thousand shekels from multiple sources, including our community members. It is a large amount, which will cover but a fraction of the needs, but it will help.
Usually, I turn to a small number of members for such help, but this time it’s different. Therefore, I am making a general call for aid to each of you. Any amount, large or small, one-time or repeated, will really help. The Va’ad and the Keren Tzedakah have kindly agreed to set up a special fund called Mekimi, and you can make a contribution to it via any of the gabaim or myself. Any funds will be transferred to the family in question only after the approval of the financial advisor and myself, in order to ensure that the funds reach creditors in the proper fashion.
I can supply anyone who is interested additional details, while protecting the family’s privacy.
