  • קיבלנו השבוע מסטיב טוברמן סרטון קצר שצולם בברית מילה של דניאל טוֹברמן בהושענא רבה בדיוק לפני 25 שנה.
  • בסרטון תוכלו לראות את עזרת הגברים כפי שנראתה לפני השיפוץ הגדול — (ואף בדקה 4:07 כמה שניות של אזור עזרת הנשים).
  • שיפוץ בית הכנסת נגמר בשנת 2000 ע״י ועד הבנייה שלנו (גֵ׳יין מֶדוֶוד, דַייאן רוזנשיין, והרב ברוך רקובסקי ז״ל). כאן תרשים של הבנין לפני השיפוץ.

1991 Video

  • This week we received from Steve Toberman a short video which was filmed at Daniel Toberman's brit milah on Hoshana Rabbah exactly one quarter century ago.
  • In the video, you can see the men's section of the shul as it appeared before our big renovation (with a couple of seconds view at 4:07 of where the women's section was).
  • The renovation was completed in the summer of 2000 by our building committee (Jane Medved, Diane Rosenschein, and Rabbi Baruch Rackovsky ז״ל). Here is a diagram of the previous floor plan.
  • More importantly, you will see several of our dear members: the ba'alei simcha, Dina Herbet-Toberman and Steve Toberman, also Aharon Rivlin, Meir Edelstein, Miriam Steiner, David Steiner ז״ל, Yosef Bronstein ז״ל, David Greenwald ז״ל, Avraham Seligman ז״ל, and Shaul Weinstein ז״ל.

קריאת נשׁים בשׂמחת תורה

חברים יקרים,

כמה מחברות הקהילה ביקשו לממש השנה קריאת נשים בשמחת תורה בבית המדרש. הבקשה אושרה ע"י הועד ותבוצע על פי אישורו והדרכתו של הרב וילק כמפורט במכתבו המצורף.

Several women in our congregation requested a women's reading on Simhat Torah in the Beit Midrash. The request was approved by the Va'ad and will be performed in compliance with Rabbi Vilk's approval and instructions, as detailed in the attached letter (in Hebrew and now also translated into English).

מקומות בבית הכנסת בימים נוראים תשע״ז

בהתקרב הימים הנוראים אנו נערכים לרישום המקומות. הנכם מתבקשים למלא את הטופס שבתחתית העמוד ושרק לפיו יִבָּנֶה שיבוץ המתפללים במקומות.

כידוע חלק גדול מהמקומות בבית הכנסת רשום על שם חברים קבועים. אנו נשתדל למצוא מקומות למתפללים נוספים על בסיס מקום פנוי. מקומות אלה הם לימי ראש השנה וליום כיפור ואינם כוללים את שבת פרשת וילך (שבת שובה). גם השנה יהיו שני מקומות תפילה: בבית הכנסת ברח' יעל ובבית משפחת הרב וילק.

כל החברים מתבקשים למלא את הטופס, כולל אלו שלא יתפללו בבית הכנסת בימים הנוראים, כך שנוכל לדעת אלו מקומות יוותרו פנויים. אנא החזירו את הטפסים לא יאוחר מיום ט"ו באלול תשע"ו 19.9.16. את הטופס יש לשלוח אל שמעון קהן yaelshul5777@gmail.com. אפשר גם למלא את הטופס ידנית ולמסרו לשמעון קהן. למעונינים יחולקו טפסים בבית הכנסת.

התשלום ליחיד: 400₪, התשלום למשפחה הכוללת זוג או זוג עם ילדים לא נשׂוּאים: 800₪

As the High Holidays approach, we are beginning to assign seats. We ask you to please send back the information in the form below soon. Only once it’s been submitted can your request for seats be addressed by the seating committee.

As you know, most seats in shul are already assigned to members. We will try to accommodate additional requests on the basis of availability. These seats will be just for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This does not include Shabbat Va'Yelekh (Shabbat Shuvah). Again, this year, there will be a minyan in the main shul as well as another one at the Vilk family home.

Everyone should fill out this form, even those who will not be joining these Services. Thus we will know in advance about all open seats. Please e-mail the forms no later than Motzei Shabbat September 17 to Howie Kahn at yaelshul5777@gmail.com. Hard copies will also be available in the shul which can be given to Howie Kahn.

Prices: 400 NIS for a single seat; 800 NIS per couple or a family including unmarried children.
