במקביל לתרומות קמחא דפסחא, נוהגות לשׁכּות הרווחה לחלק תלושי אוכל לקראת החגים. בדרך כלל משתדלים העובדים הסוציאליים להעניק ₪200 – ₪300 למשפחה לקראת החגים הבאים עלינו לטובה. למרות שאין מדובר בסכומים ניכרים הרי שזה בכל זאת משהו, והמשפחות מחכות בכיליון עיניים למענקים אלו. הלשכות תלויות בתרומות של אנשי חסד וקרנות צדקה כי אין להם סכומים מספיקים מן העיריה.נודה לכם על תרומתכם ביד רחבה, כדי לאפשר מתן המענקים ליותר ויותר משפחות נזקקות ולהדליק יותר אור ושמחה בחגים. ניתן לתרום לקרן צדקה באתר הקהילה באמצעות כרטיס אשראי ולציין "לשכות הרווחה". ניתן גם לתרום בהעברה בנקאית לחשבון הקרן, או במעטפה לתיבת הדאר בכניסה לעזרת הגברים. ראויים הם ראש השנה ,יום הכיפורים וימי התשובה, שנרבה לתרום בהם לעזרת אלו שאין להם.במצורף מכתבה של מנהלת לשכת דרום בקטמון:

בעקבות משבר הקורונה נוספו לרשימת הלקוחות שלנו פונים רבים חדשים, אך המשאבים שלנו לא השתנו בהתאם. פניות רבות אלו סביב סיוע כלכלי למשפחות, לבודדים, ולקשישים. לקראת חגי תשרי היינו רוצים להעניק לכל לקוח שזקוק לעזרה וסיוע בתווי קניה/סלי מזון. נשמח גם השנה לתמיכה בתרומות מהקהילה שלכם.

As with the Kimcha dePischa (pre-Pesach) donations, the local welfare offices distribute food stamps in preparation for the Tishrei holidays. Usually the social workers try to give NIS 200 – 300 per family. Although these are not substantial sums, it is still something, and families eagerly await these grants. The welfare offices depend on donations from benefactors and charities because they do not have sufficient funds from the municipality.

Please make a generous contribution to enable the allocation of subsidies to more and more needy families and to give them light and joy during the holidays. You can donate to Keren Tzedakah on the shul website using a credit card; please indicate “Welfare offices”. You can also donate by bank transfer to the fund account, or by placing an envelope with your check in the mailbox near the entrance to the men’s section. The season of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and the Ten days of Teshuvah is certainly an appropriate time in which to contribute to the help of those in need.

Following is a recent letter from the director of the southern office in Katamon:

In light of the coronavirus crisis, many new applicants have been added to our list of clients, but our resources did not change accordingly. These many requests revolve around financial assistance to families, individuals, and the elderly.
For the Tishrei holidays, we would like to provide every needy client with food vouchers / food baskets.
As in past years, we will be very grateful for your support and for any donations from your community.

אני פונה אליכם בבקשת עזרה בהכנת ארוחות למשפחת ויינשטיין בשבוע השבעה. זאת משפחה מייסדת שנתנה הרבה לבית הכנסת משך עשׂרות שנים ואני מקווה שנוכל לעזור להם עם החסד האחרון של גיבוי בזמן השבעה.

The funeral was last night, Monday, 31/8/20

The family is sitting shiva at the family home, Rehov Barak 3
Visits with masks and following the rules of the Health Ministry
