במקרה של מצוקה
ועדת החסד של הקהילה ערוכה להושיט יד לעזרה לכל חבר או חברה הנמצא במצוקה בגלל בידוד, מחלה או כל דבר אחר. במקרה של צורך יש לתהקשר לסטיב זרובניק ב: 054-313-3728.
סטיב גם ישמח לשמוע מחברי הקהילה המוכנים להתנדב לעזור לו במשׂימה הזאת במידת הצורך.
למה סגרנו?

מגיע לכם הסבר למה סגרנו את בית הכנסת עד להודעה חדשה.
קודם כל היינו צריכים לפעול מהר אחרי הודעת התקנות החדשות במוצאי שבת פרשת כי תישא. כינסנו את הוועד ב- Zoom בהודעה קצרה מאד. לפני כן קיימתי שיחה עם הרב. הדיון היה קצר. לפי התקנות אסור לכנס יותר מ-10 אנשים. אנחנו גם במצב שהתקנות יכולות להחמיר עוד יותר. רבים מחברי הקהילה הם בקבוצת סיכון. לפי משרד הבריאות הסיכון עולה מדרגה מגיל 60 ועוד יותר לאלה שיש להם מחלות רקע.
יש חברים שהתפילה בציבור יקרה להם מאד. אבל דָּא עָקָא. יש כאלה שבאופן מובהק נמצאים בקובצת סיכון שהתעקשו להגיע לבית הכנסת. לאור הסכנה הגוברת, יחד עם הקושי לארגן מניינים מצומצים, החלטנו שהדבר הנכון לעשות הוא להשעות כל פעילות עד להודעה חדשה.
המצב כואב לכולנו לראות את בית כנסת שלנו סגור. הצרה פוקדת גם קהילות רבות. העיקר הוא בריאות הקהילה שלא לדבר על חשיבות שמירת נפשות של חברי הקהילה והציבור בכלל.
קיימים מניינים לא רשמיים במקומות שונים. התפילה בציבור נמשכת. אולם יש לשקול היטב כל יציאה מהבית והצטרפות לאשנים אחרים במיוחד עבור מי שבקבוצת סיכון.
נתפלל כולנו להתאוששות מהמגיפה הנוכחית ולבריאותם של כולם ולהחלמת החולים.
מצפים לראות את כולם בקרוב שוב בבית הכנסת שרק יתחזק וילך מחיל אל חיל.

Help for Members in Distress
The shul Hesed Committee is ready to help any member of the community in distress because of isolation, illness or any other cause.
If you need help you can call Steve Zerobnick at 054-313-3728.
Steve would also be happy to hear from volunteers ready to help the committee with this work, should the need arise.
Why did We Close?
Dear Members of the Emek Refaim Beit Knesset!
You deserve an explanation of why we closed the synagogue until further notice.
First of all, we had to act quickly after the announcement of the new regulations on Motzaei Shabbat. We called an emergency committee meeting at very short notice by Zoom.
Before the meeting I had a conversation with the Rav. The discussion was brief. The new regulations prohibited gatherings of more than 10 people We can also expect the regulations to become even stricter. Many community members are in the at risk category. According to the Ministry of Health, the risk increases from the age of 60 and more-so for those with prior chronic illnesses.
There are members for whom tefilla b'tzibbur is very important and precious. But this is also a problem. There are those who are clearly at risk but who insisted on going to the shul. Given the growing danger, along with the difficulty of organizing minyanim of exactly 10, we decided that the right thing to do was to suspend all activity until further notice.
Seeing our synagogue closed is painful for us all. This distressing situation also affects many other communities. The main thing is the health of the community, not to mention the importance of preserving the lives of community members and the public at large.
There are informal minyanim in different places. Prayer in public continues. However, every departure from home should be carefully considered when it involves gathering with others, especially those at risk.
We all pray for an end to the current epidemic and for everyone's health and for recovery.
We look forward to seeing everyone again soon in the our shul as our community is restored and goes from strength to strength.
