  • Mazal tov to Abby and Mordy Kehat on the occasion of their son, Avri’s, engagement to Avital Day, daughter of Yemima Day of Yehud.
  • Yom Haatzmaut: On Tuesday, May 14, at 7:50pm there will be a festive aravit service led by Meir Fachler, and accompanied by Howie Kahn. Shacharit on Wednesday will be at 6:00am and 7:45am, with light refreshments following each minyan.
  • Yom Yerushalayim: We’ll celebrate Yom Yerushalayim with se'uda shelishit on Shabbat June 1, and with a walking tour as follows: On Thursday May 30, at 3:45pm, we shall meet at the main entrance to Har Herzl, with hats and water, and be guided in the footsteps and the memories of the fallen by Aviv Wishkovsky, with simultaneous translation. Those interested in participating are requested to sign up with Mordy Kehat — 054-487-2292 or mkehat@gmail.com — and to promptly transfer ₪50 per participant to the shul's account, indicating its being "for the tour".

פעילות מורחבת של ועדת החסד: ביקור חולים

חברים יקרים,

ועדת החסד של בית הכנסת שלנו קיימת כבר 6 שנים ועוזרת למשפחות בזמן שׁכוֹל לצלוח את תקופה הקשה של אבדן יקיר/ה.

בתקופה קשה זאת, אנחנו רוצים להרחיב את הפעילות שלנו להושיט יד אחד לשני ולזקוקים בגלל המלחמה בתחומי חסד נוספים:

כשחבר/חברה חולה, אנו רוצים ליידע את הקהילה ע"מ שהחברים ידעו ויוכלו לבקר את החולה, להציע עזרה למשפחה ולהתפלל לרפואה.

הנה קישור לטופס שעליו יוכל/תוכל כל אחד/ת מאיתנו להודיע על חבר/ת משפחה חולה שיאפשר לכולנו להתעדכן בעזרתו לכל מי זקוק/ה לרפואה בקהילה.

Get-Well Visits

The Hesed Committee of Beit Knesset Emek Refaim is expanding its activities to new areas in these difficult times:

When a member is sick, we want to let the Kehilah know in order to enable them to visit the sick member, offer help to the family, and pray for recovery.

Here is a link to allow each of us to let the Kehilah know about a sick family member, so we all can be up to date regarding who in our community is in need of our help and prayers.

    1. Is there a connection between the actions of the rescuers on October 7 and the actions of the rescuers during the Holocaust?
    2. Why were accounts of Jewish rescue efforts unheeded for several generations?
    3. How were people recued during the Holocaust?
    4. What can our and future generations learn from these stories?
