Betsy (Batya Malka) Kaplan

The funeral took place on Sunday morning.

Betsy's daughters, Rachel Cohen (Efrat), Elana Azran (Jerusalem) and Theresa Levine (Atlanta USA) are sitting shiva until Friday at Betsy’s home in Baka, Matityahu 1 / Derech Bet Lechem 54 – next to Beit Moses.

Due to the Health Ministry's Covid-19 rules, shiva visits must be arranged in advance. To arrange a visit, please call Kenny Cohen at 052-386-3986.

May Betsy's memory be for a blessing.

  • מזל טוב לרגל הולדת נין לאבי אײַזקס. הברית היתה ביום שישי שעבר ואבי היה הסנדק. לתינוק קוראים איתן ישראל. ההורים ליאל והוד אלפּרט, וסבתא וסבא דינה ושמוליק גנזל.
  • מזל טוב לרגל הולדת נכדה לפבייאה וסטפן שאו וּלבת-שבע וגד רוטשילד, בת ירושלמית השלישית לאהרון ושרה שור.
  • קבלת שבת הערב ב-18:30 בזוּם פה.
  • ביום ד׳ 22.7.2020, א׳ אב, תתקיים תפילת נשים לראש חודש אב בזוּם פה. תפילת שחרית ואמירת תהילים 09.30, הלל ב-10:00, דבר תורה ב-10:15.
  • ההגבלה ל-20 מתפללים ומתפללות בלבד עדיין בתוקף. התפילות תתקיימנה בחצר בית הכנסת. חברים וחברות שרוצים להתפלל בבית הכנסת בשחרית בימי חול, בליל שבת ובשבת בבוקר מתבקשים להירשם מראש בטבלה הנמצאת בקישור פה.

  • Mazal tov to Fabia and Stephen Shaw and to Batsheva and Gad Rothschild on the birth of a granddaughter, the third daughter born in Jerusalem to Aaron and Sarah Shaw.
  • The restriction limiting the number of congregants in the Beit Knesset to 20 remains in force. We will return to davening outside in the חצר. Those wishing to attend for shacharit during the week, Friday night and/or Shabbat morning are asked to register in advance using the table that can be found here.

  • Women’s Rosh Hodesh tefillah: please join us on Zoom here on Wednesday, July 22, for Rosh Chodesh Av. Shacharit and tehillim begin at 9.30am, Hallel at 10:00am and dvar torah at 10:15am.
  • Reminder: Planning for Yamim Noraim – Tishrei 5781- September 2020. In light of the current complex situation regarding the Corona pandemic, the Va’ad is beginning preparations for tefillot for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur this coming September. It is important for us to get a response from all our members. If you have not yet responded to the questionnaire, please do so. Your answers do not commit you to anything. You can still change your mind. Please note that this form is not in itself a way to order seats. It is only to provide us with information to help us plan. The questionnaire is here.
