קהילתנו הצטרפה לפרויקט של בתי כנסת מאמצים בתי מלון בהם משתכנים מפונים מיישובי הגבולות בדרום ובצפון. זה אומר שאנחנו כקהילה התחייבנו להושיט עזרה לפי בקשתם של הרכזים הנמצאים בכל בית מלון. מדובר בהספקת ציוד וכל עזרה אחרת שיבקשו. חברי הקהילה כבר ענו לבקשה להציע דירות עבור בנות שירות. הוצאות הפרויקט יהיו באחריות קרן הצדקה של הקהילה. זאת הזדמנות לחדש את התרומות לקרן הצדקה פה:

Batei Knesset Adopting Hotels of Evacuees

We have joined a project of communities adopting hotels housing evacuees from the North and South of the country. We will offer help as requested by the coordinators in each of the hotels. This help includes providing needed equipment and other forms of assistance. A number of members have already responded positively to the need for apartments for women in National Service who are working with the evacuees. • על פי הוראות פּיקוד העורף לאחרונה מותרת התקהלות של 300 בני אדם בתוך מבנה בית הכנסת ובחצר האחורית התקהלות של עד 30 אנשים. אין לשבת או לעמוד בתפילות בחצר הקדמית. במקרה של אזעקה על כולם להיכנס פנימה ולהישאר בפנים למשך 10 דקות לפחות.
• לא יתקיימו קידושים המתוכננים בשבתות הקרובות.
• ביטחון: יהיו חברים עם כלי נשק בתפילות בשבת. בנוסף, כל חבר הנושׂא נשק ברישיון מתבקש להגיע חמוש.

• השיעורים של הרב וילק לא יתקיימו השבת.
• בשבת ב 16:30 יתקיים שוב לימוד ואמירת תהילים לנשׁים בבית כנסת יעל. הרבנית פרל בורו תתן שיעור קצר ולאחר מכן אמירת תהילים לחזרתם בשלום של חיילינו, הפצועים והשבויים. אַתֶּן מוזמנות ע״י יוזמות הלימוד, גֵ׳יין מדווד ופרל בורו, לשתף סיפור או דבר תורה באנגלית או בעברית. אנא הביאנה עמכן ספר תהילים. 
• בקשה לשמירה על בריאות הציבור: מתפללים ומתפללות שנמצאו חיוביים לקורונה מתבקשים לא להגיע לבית הכנסת. בקשה זו חשובה מיוחד בחגים כאשר בית הכנסת והחצרות צפופים. אלה שיש להם סימפטומים כגון שיעול מתבקשים לחבוש מסכות.

Announcements

• • IDF Homefront Command has raised the number of worshippers attending Beit HaKnesset to up to 300, of whom 30 may be outside in back – the ‘pardes.’ There is no need for a sign-up sheet at this time. The advisory still stands that no one should sit or stand for tefillot in the front courtyard. 
  • If a siren sounds, all should shelter inside the building for at least 10 minutes.
  • Kiddushim scheduled for the coming weeks are postponed until further notice.
  • Security: On shabbat there will be armed members at all services. In addition, members licensed to carry a weapon are asked to come armed to Beit Knesset.
  • We are trying to make a list of community members licensed to carry a weapon to better coordinate security for the Beit Knesset and plan for emergencies. Those members with a license should please contact michaelgillis120@gmail.com 
  • Rav Vilk’s shiurim will not take place this Shabbat.
  • A women’s Tehillim and learning session will take place at the Yael shul this shabbat parshat Noach at 4:30pm. Pearl Borow will give a short shiur, followed by recitation of tehillim for the safe return of our soldiers, the injured and those held captive. Organizers Jane Medved and Pearl Borow invite you to share a story or dvar torah in English or Hebrew. Please bring a sefer tehillim with you. 
  • To protect the health of the community, those who have tested positive for COVID are asked to not come to the Beit Knesset. Those with symptoms such as a cough are asked to wear a mask.

— מאת שתי אחיות של חברתנו דינה הרבט בקיבוץ עלומיםחברים וחברות יקרים,

קיבוץ עלומים שעל גבול רצועת עזה, עלה על הקרקע בשנת 1966. 57 שנות צמיחה, חקלאות מפוארת, דורות ילדים ונוער, שנעצרו ביממת בלהות של לחימה. ב-7 באוקטובר 2023, בוקר שמחת תורה תשפ"ד, פשטו על הקיבוץ עשרות מחבלים. הם רצחו את העובדים הזרים בחקלאות, כיתרו והבעירו את התשתיות החקלאיות ואת מוסדותיו, ונהדפו בקרבות מפוארים שהובילה כיתת הכוננות של הקיבוץ.

יצאנו לגיוס כספים לקראת ימי השיקום ואנו מבקשים את עזרתכם. איש ואישה אשר ידבנו ליבכם.

Kibbutz Alumim – Coming Home

— Via two sisters of our member Dina Herbet who live at Alumim 

Dear Friends,

Kibbutz Alumim, located on the border of the Gaza Strip was founded in 1966. For the 57 years of its existence, it has flourished, producing prime agriculture, and generations of children and youth.But all came to a standstill during a long day of battle.

On the morning of 7th October 2023, on the joyous festival of Simchat Torah, dozens of terrorists infiltrated the kibbutz. They attacked Alumim, murdered foreign farm workers, burnt agricultural infrastructure and kibbutz buildings, and a ferocious battle ensued, led by the kibbutz security squad, who eventually drove them out.

Alumim has not fallen and never will.
