את שבתון הקהילה נעשׂה השנה בשישי-שבת "צו", 30-29 במרץ, בבית שאן, שלאורך אלפי שנים היתה עיר מרכזית בארץ ישראל.
בסיורנו ביום שישי בגן הלאומי, נהלך לאורך רחובות בית שאן הקדומה – בהם יהודים ונוכרים נפגשו, התנגשו והתחברו. נבקר בתאטרון הרומי המרשים וגם באמפיתאטרון, ונעמוד על ההבדל בניהם, ומה חשבו עליהם חכמינו. "נִטבּוֹל" בבית המרחץ יחד עם רבן גמליאל ופסל אפרודיטי. ברחבת השוק, נגלה מה הקשר בין קניות ופריצות. נהלך על ריצוף הרחוב המקורי בינות לעמודי המפולת המרשימים. מדריכנו באתר יהיה ערן מאיר, שהוא מורה דרך וארכיאולוג ידוע.
לאחר כל זאת, נבלה שבת נינוחה יחד באכסניית בית שאן היפה – נהנה מארוחות שבת, משיעורים מעניינים, ומתפילות מעוררות השראה. בשבת, בשעה 15:30, נערוך סיור מודרך באתרים החשובים והמעניינים בעיר.
מחיר השבתון ("הכל כלול") הוא 1,500₪ לזוג או 1,000₪ ליחיד. יש להעביר את התשלום עבור השבתון לא יאוחר מיום 1/2/2024, על-מנת לשמור את החדרים באכסניה.

Shabbaton Kehilla in Beit She’an – March 29-30, 2024
This year’s Shabbaton Kehilla will be on Friday-Shabbat “Tzav”, March 29-30, in Beit She’an, which for thousands of years was an important city in Eretz Yisrael.
On our Friday tour of Beit She’an National Park, we will walk along ancient Beit She’an’s streets – on which Jews and non-Jews met, clashed and connected. We will visit the impressive Roman theatre, and the amphitheater as well, and note the differences between them, and what our sages thought about them. We’ll take a dip in the wash house together with Rabban Gamliel and Aphrodite’s statue. In the Shuk plaza, we will discover the connection between consumerism and promiscuity. We’ll tread on the streets’ original floor-tiles between the impressive earthquake columns.
Our guide in the park will be Eran Meir, a reknowned tour-guide and archeologist.
After Friday’s sightseeing, we’ll spend a relaxing Shabbat together in the attractive Beit She’an Hostel – where we will enjoy Shabbat meals together, interesting classes, and inspiring tefillot. At 3:30pm on Shabbat afternoon, we’ll take a walk through Beit She’an’s more important and interesting sites.
The price of the Shabbaton (all included) is 1,500 NIS for a couple, or 1,000 NIS for single accommodation. Payment needs be made by February 1, so as to secure the rooms in the hostel.
