• 11:15-12:00PM: Moshe Sobol, a Judge on the Jerusalem District Court: "Whose Natural Gas? Ownership of Natural Resources through the Prism of Halacha"
• 12:00-12:45AM: Rabbi Shlomo Glicksberg, Rabbi of Nitzanim Congregation: "Shmita and Mount Sinai: Challenges and Solutions"
• 1:00AM: study by chevruta
• 4:40AM: Reading of Megillat Ruth, in an early minyan. (Light snack will be served afterwards.)
• The entire congregation — men and women — is invited.

לכבוד יום ירושלים תשע"ד, תהיה תפילה חגיגית בבית הכנסת בערב (כ׳ז אייר, יום שלישי) בשעה 19:45, ותפילת מעריב בשעה 20:00. למחרת, בשני המניינים לשחרית (6:00 וגם 7:30), תהיה תפילה חגיגית וכיבוד לאחר התפילה.

In honor of Yom Yerushalayim 5774, a tefilla of celebration will take place this Tuesday evening (27 Iyar) at 7:45 p.m., followed by tefillat ma'ariv at 8 p.m. On Wednesday morning (28 Iyar), a tefilla of celebration will take place in both minyanim for shaharit (6:00 and 7:30 a.m.), with refreshments served after each minyan.

משפחת ריין מזמינה את חברי הקהילה להשתתף בתהלוכת לפידים ובחגיגת הכנסת ספר התורה ביום 20.5.2014 בשעה 20.30.

התהלוכה תצא מרח' הרכבת 12, עם חופה וכליזמרים, אל "בית כנסת עמק רפאים". ארבעה ספרי תורה יקבלו את פני הספר החדש בשירת: "שׂאו שׁערים ראשׁיכם".

בתכנית : מצגת על סיפורו המיוחד של ספר התורה. כן גם ישאו דברים הרב הראשי לישראל הרב דוד לאו, מרא דאתרא הרב שלמה וילק וכן גם רב בית החולים הדסה הרב משה קליין.

כיבוד בחצר לכבוד המאורע.

הצִבור נקרא להשתתף במתן כבוד לספר התורה החדש.

The Rein family invites members of the congregation to a torch ceremony and festive addition of a Sefer Torah on Tuesday evening, May 20, at 8:30PM.

The procession will leave 12 HaRakevet Street, with a chuppah and klezmer band, to Beit Knesset Emek Refaim. Four Sifrei Torah will welcome the new addition with the singing of  "‎שאו שערים".

The program will include: the special story of this Torah. Also, the Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi David Lau will share his remarks, as will our own Rabbi Shlomo Vilk, and the Rabbi of Hadassah Hospital, Rabbi Moshe Klein.

There will be a light snack in honor of the event.

The public is invited to bestow honor on our new Sefer Torah.

סיור במושבה הגרמנית יתקיים ביום ששי 23.5.2014 בשעה 9:00. נפגש בתחנת סונול שבגן הפעמון לסיור במשך שלש שעות בהדרכת תמר כהן.

ליד הבית בין גגות בתיה של המושבה הגרמנית חבויים סיפורים על חלוציות, השגים וגם אבדן דרך,על חילופי אוכלוסין ועל שקיעת השכונה ונסיקתה. נסייר מגן הפעמון ותחנת הרכבת, דרך מוסדות הציבור של הטמפלרים אל בתיהם הפרטיים. נעקוב אחר התפתחות השכונה ומוסדות התרבות שצמחו בה – קפה פטר וקולנוע סמדר.

סעודה שלישית לכבוד יום ירושלים תתקיים בשבת פרשת "במדבר" בשעה 18.50 (מנחה ב-18.30). בסעודה ישתתף ויספר חברנו ישראל צוריאל , שׁלָחַם בקרב על גבעת התחמושת ושחרור הכותל המערבי, בגדוד 66 חטיבה 55 בראשה עמד מוטה גור. ישראל קיבל את עטור המופת על פעולתו האישית בקרב זה.

There will be a guided tour of the German Colony on Friday morning, May 23, at 9:00AM. We will meet at the Sonol gas station at Gan HaPa'amon for a fascinating 3-hour tour led by Tamar Cohen.

The German Colony is home to its own hidden pearls: stories of pioneering, achievement, and also lost ways, population exchanges, the neighborhood's decline and rebirth. We will explore from Gan HaPa'amon to the train station, the public buildings of the Templers and their private houses. We will also hear about some of the German Colony's own institutions, such as Cafe Peter and the Smadar Theater.

There will also be a festive Se'uda Shlishit on shabbat afternoon (BaMidbar) May 24 at 6:50PM, after mincha (6:30PM), with a special talk by Yisrael Zuriel, who fought in the battle for Ammunition Hill and the liberation of the Kotel HaMaaravi in 1967, in the 55th Paratroopers Brigade led by Mota Gur. Yisrael was awarded the medal of valor for his outstanding courage in that fateful battle.
