כדרכנו בקודש מידי שנה –
מתכננת קהילתנו לצאת לשבתון המסורתי לשנת תשע"ד
בבית ההארחה האיכותי בבית שאן.
בתוכנית :
יום שישי : 8:00 – יציאה באוטובוס מבקעה לסיור בן כחמש שעות, ככל שיאפשר הזמן, בארץ המעיינות הירוקה והמסקרנת אשר בעמק בית שאן.
נפתח בתצפית מן הגלבוע, נספר את סיפור העמק הפרוש למרגלותיו
למן ימי התנ"ך ועד לימי חומה ומגדל .. ולימינו אנו
ונצא לסיור בינות למעיינות הנובעים והמפכים בו –
עין יזרעאל, עין חומה, עין מגדל, עין שוקק ועין מודע.
15:00 – הגעה למלון והתארגנות לשבת
17:10 – כניסת השבת
לוח זמנים מפורט לתפילות ולפעילויות במלון יפורסם במועד מאוחר יותר.
בשבת בצהריים נערוך סיור למשך שעתיים וחצי בתל בית שאן המרשים,
עליו נאמר בתלמוד – 'גן עדן – אם בארץ ישראל הוא – בית שאן פתחו!' (עירובין י"ט, ע"א)
נהלך בינות לרחובותיה של הפוליס הרומית רבת העוצמה,
בינות לעמודים המרשימים של רחובותיה .. לתיאטרון ולאמפיתיאטרון ..
לבתי המרחץ ולפסיפסים, לחומות ולמזרקות, לשווקים ולמקדשים ..
ונספר את סיפורה של עיר בת 6000 שנה ..
למן ימי התנ"ך, בה הוצב שאול על חומת בית-שן ..
דרך ימי רומי וביזנטיון, בה היתה עיר רבת עוצמה וגם .. רבת נוכרים,
עד כי קיבלה מעמד של 'ארץ העמים' הפטורה ממעשרות ..
ועד לכפר הקטן של מלחמת העצמאות ולימינו אלה.

Our congregation is already planning
our next annual shabbaton
to be held this year at the deluxe guest house in Beit She'an.
Program:
Friday 8:00 AM:
Departure by bus from Bak'a for a 5-hour tour (time permitting)
to the fascinating and spectacularly green land of springs in the Beit She'an Valley.
Beginning with a view from high on Mt. Gilboa,
we will recount the amazing story of the valley below —
from the ancient time of the Tanakh through the time of the Wall & Tower settlements
of the British Mandate, to modern times.
We'll see the Valley of Jezreel, Ein Homa, Ein Migdal, Ein Shokek, and Ein Moda.
3:00 PM: Arrival at the hotel and time to get ready
5:10 PM: Shabbat begins
A more detailed schedule of tefilot and activities will be circulated at a later date.
On shabbat afternoon, we will take a 2-1/2 hour walk around Tel Beit She'an.
As the Talmud says, "If you're looking for Gan Eden on Earth, look no farther than Beit She'an".(Eiruvin 19A)
On our walk we will explore the power of the ancient Roman polis,
see its impressive columns, the theatre and amphitheatre,
the public baths, mosaics, walls, fountains, markets and temples.
We will tell the story of this 6,000 year old city
from the days of the Tanakh, when King Saul's head was hung on its gates,
through the days of Rome and Byzantium, as an imperial pagan city,
to the point where it received international (and tax-exempt) status, through more modern times as a village during the War of Independence and on to today.

Cost for Friday and Shabbat is ₪1,100 per couple and ₪250 per child in a parent's room.
There are 62 rooms available, and we must order them now to assure availability.
