לחברי וחברות הקהילה היקרים שלום!
אני מבקש לעדכן את כולם לגבי התפתחויות בקהילה ותכניות לעתיד הקרוב, במיוחד במה שקשור לימים הנוראים הקרבים ובאים.
בכל התקופה הוועד התכנס בתכיפות לישיבות מן המניין ושלא מן המניין כדי לקבל החלטות לאור המצב המשתנה וההנחיות המשתנות חדשים לבקרים.
רבים שואלים לגבי ההסדרים לימים הנוראים. קשה לתת תשובות ברורות בעניין. כעת אנחנו מקיימים תפילות בחצר בית הכנסת המוגבלות ל20 מתפללים ומתפללות. אנחנו מקווים שעד חודש תשרי המצב ישתפר ויהו הקלות בהנחיות שיאפשרו כניסה של לפחות חמישים איש גם לתוך בית הכנסת עצמו. מה שלא יהיה, נקפיד לקיים הוראות הרשויות ולשמור על בריאות הציבור.
כידוע לכם קיימנו סקר לגבי הרצונות והצרכים של החברים בנוגע לתפילות. בהתאת לכך בכוונתנו לתמוך בקיום של 4 מניינים. שניים מהם יתקיימו במקומות פתוחים ושנים בתוך מבנים עם אפשרות לשבת בחוץ. כל זה בהנחה שיהיה מותר לכנס ביחד 50 אנשים תוך שמירת מרחק ועטיית מסכות.
במידה שדבר זה לא יתאפשר ונמשיך להיות מוגבלים ל20 איש, חברי הקהילה יצטרכו לארגן לעצמם מניינים פרטיים קטנים והוועד יעשה ככל לאל ידו כדי לעזור בעניין. עזרה זאת תכלול רשימה של מניינים פרטיים ואנשי קשר כדי שכל חבר ימצא מקום מתאים לתפילות.
התפילות יהיו פשוטות וקצרות מהרגיל. המשימה למצוא אנשים ראויים המוכנים לעבור לפני התיבה, לקרוא בתורה ולתקוע בשופר בכל התפילות איננה פשוטה כלל וכלל. נשמח לשמוע מכם עם הצעות בעניין הזה. בעוד כמה שבועות נפניה לחברי הקהילה להזמין מקומות מתוך תקווה שעד אז המצב יתבהר יותר. אנחנו מבקשים שתקבלו בהבנה את חלוקת מקומות שתהייה כפופה לאילוצים רבים. נבקש גם מחברי הקהילה לשלם את דמי החבר הרגילים מתוך תפיסה שכספים אלה הם למען חברות בקהילה וקיום צרכיה ואינם תמורה למקומות תפילה.
בתקופה האחרונה היינו צריכים לטפל בכמה דברים הקשורים לבית הכנסת כולל תיקונים למערכת החשמל, הרחבת הגישה לאינטרנט. יש גם תכניות להתקין מערכת אוורור כדי שבחודשי החורף נכניס אוויר צח לתוך בית הכנסת – דבר שהוא חיוני לבריאות הציבור גם ללא סכנת הקורונה. מצופות הוצאות נוספות, במיוחד אם ניאלץ להמשיך ולהתפלל בחוץ.
אחרי החגים, בחודש מרחשוון נקיים אסיפת חברי העמותה בה נעביר דווח על פעילות השנה ודוחות כספיים. נבקש אישרור של תקנון חדש שיחולק מראש לעיונם של החברים. נקיים בחירות לוועד חדש. לפי המדיניות שקבענו להגביל כהונה כחבר וועד לחמש שנים יפרשו כמה חברים מהוועד. נשמח לשמוע מכל חבר המעוניין להציע את עצמם או אחרים לתפקיד זה. פנייה זו היא גם אל חברים וחברות ששירתו בעבר כחברי וועד והמוכנים לשוב לתרום מזמנם ומנסיונם.
בחודשים האחרונים הקהילה שלנו הוכיחה את עצמה כקהילה. אם העולם עומד על התורה ועל העבודה ועל גמילות חסדים, הקהילה שלנו חיזק את העמודים האלה במשך כל התקופה הקשה הזאת. שיעורי תורה המשיכו. קיימנו גם עבודה שבלב בתפילות במתחם בית הכסת וגם וגם באופן ווירטואלי. כמו כן, וועדות הצדקה והחסד תפקדו ותמכו בחברי הקהילה ובקהילה הרחבה. לא אנסה לנקוב בשמות של כל הנושאים בנטל הזה, כי רבים הם, שלא להזכיר את אלה הדואגים לקיום של תקשורת רצופה בינינו.
אני מודה לכולם – בין אם הם נושאים בתפקיד פורמאלי וגם אם לאו, העוסקים בצרכי ציבור באמונה ודואגים לפעילות הקהילה בכל המישורים. כולנו נושאים תפילה להחלמה של החולים, לסוף המגפה ולשנה טובה של בריאות ושׂגשׂוּג.

Letter to the Community from the Va’ad Chair

Dear Friends,
I would like to update everyone on developments in the community and plans for the near future, especially with regard to the approaching Yamim Noraim.
Throughout this period the committee convened frequently for both regular and extraordinary meetings to make decisions in light of the changing situation and constantly changing public health guidelines.
Many have asked about the arrangements for the Yamim Noraim. It is difficult to give clear answers. We currently hold tefillot in the courtyard of the Beit Haknesset that are limited to 20. We hope that by the month of Tishrei the situation will improve and there will be an easing of guidelines that will allow at least fifty people to enter the Beit Haknesset itself. Whatever the rules in force, we will make sure to follow the authorities' instructions and safeguard the health of the community.
As you know, we conducted a survey about the wishes and needs of the members regarding tefilot. Accordingly, we intend to support the existence of four minyanim. Two of them will be held in open spaces and two inside buildings with the option to sit outside. All this is on the assumption that it will be permitted to bring together fifty people together while maintaining distance and wearing masks.
If this is not possible, and we continue to be limited to 20 people, the members of the community will have to organize small private minyanim. The committee will do everything in its power to provide help and support. This help will include a list of private minyanim and contacts so that everyone can find a suitable place for tefillot.
The tefillot will be simpler and shorter than usual. The task of finding appropriate people who are willing to serve as shlichei tzibbur, read the Torah and blow the shofar in all the minyamim is far from easy. We would love to hear from you with suggestions.
In a few weeks we will turn to members of the community to book places in the hope that by then the situation will become clearer. We ask that you understand that the allocation of places will be subject to many constraints.
We will also ask members of the community to pay the regular membership fees based on the understanding that these funds are for membership in the community and providing for its needs and are not consideration for places in the Beit Knesset.
Lately we have had to take care of some things related to the building including repairs to the electrical system and expanding access to the internet. There are also plans to install a ventilation system to ensure the quality of the air, particularly during the winter months – something that is essential for our health even without the additional danger of Corona. Additional expenses are expected, especially if we are forced to continue praying outside.
After the holidays, in the month of Marcheshvan, we will hold a general meeting of the Amuta at which we will present a report on the year's activities and financial statements. We will ask for approval of a new Takanon that will be distributed in advance for the members' review. We will hold elections for a new committee. According to the policy we set for limiting the tenure of committee member to five years, some members of the committee will rotate off the board. We would love to hear from any member interested in offering themselves or others for this role. This appeal is also to members who have previously served as committee members and are willing once again to contribute their time and experience.
In recent months our community has proven itself as a community. If the world stands on Torah, Avodah and Gemilut Hasadim, our community has strengthened these pillars. Throughout this difficult time, shiurim have continued. We also maintained “Avoda Shebalev” with the tefillot both in the courtyard of the Beit Haknesset and also virtually by Zoom. In addition, the Chessed and Tzedakah committees functioned and supported members of both our particular community and the wider community. I will not try to name all those who participated in bearing this burden, because they are many, not to mention those who have worked to maintain continuous communication among us.
I thank everyone – whether they hold a formal position or not, “haoskim bezorchei tzibbur b’emunah” and take care of community activity on all levels.
We all pray for the recovery of the sick, for the end of the pandemic and for a new year of health and prosperity.
