הנחיות להגשת בקשת סיוע

The primary purpose of our Tzedakah Fund is to help community members, and Jerusalem residents who are recommended by a member of the Kehilla, who find themselves in immediate need of financial aid. We offer limited grants of up to 4,000 NIS to families, individuals and households, for a specific purpose – such as payment for services, purchase of specific items, outstanding bills, etc. – and paid directly to the supplier.

If you know of someone in the Kehilla in need, and you wish to refer them for a grant anonymously, please turn to Rav Vilk, to the Chairman of the Va'ad, or to any other Kehilla member who might be a personal sponsor. They will refer the request to us, and we will do our best to be of assistance, discreetly and with dignity.

Instructions for making a request of aid

In order to apply for a grant, please complete this form, and attach the following:

• a personal letter explaining the circumstances and request;
• a copy of the beneficiary's ID (teudat zehut), with the stub noting their Jerusalem address;
• Corroboration of the circumstances of the request – e.g. a letter from their employer or social worker, employment termination notice, a bank statement, disability reports, Bituah Leumi receipts, etc.;
• Invoice for the product/funding requested, as the grants are paid directly to the vendor providing the requested product or service.

The form and supporting documents are to be emailed to the Tzedakah Fund Committee to tzedakah@yael.org.il.

Donations

So that we as a community can quickly help those in need, please donate generously.

Contributions can be made:

• by credit card – here;
• by check – made out to “Beit Knesset Emek Refaim – Tzedakah Fund”, and should be placed in the mailbox by the door in the mens’ section;
• by bank transfer in NIS or other currencies — details of the Tzedakah Fund bank account can be obtained by email to finance@yael.org.il.

A donation receipt will be sent to the donor by e-mail, and in any event the donation will be reported directly to the Tax Authority for recognition and accounting under section 46 of the Israeli tax code.
